Over the years, Janet's path took her from sales support roles in Boston to Washington, D.C., where she managed teams and supported critical business functions. When organizational changes eliminated her role, she stepped into a special assignment helping the sales team secure a place on a GSA Schedules Contract, an effort that would ultimately shape the direction of her career. After the contract was awarded, she was asked to manage it, setting the stage for her transition into federal contracting.
In 2011, as Siemens Government Services evolved into Siemens Government Technologies, Janet became part of a core group tasked with identifying and centralizing federal contract expertise across the company. In her current role, she leads a team responsible for navigating the complexities of U.S. government contracting, an essential function behind every successful project.
"Every government solution requires a contract," she explains. "Our team helps ensure those requirements are understood, managed, and executed in a way that supports successful outcomes."
Her work plays a vital role in enabling SGT to deliver on mission-critical programs while maintaining compliance and mitigating risk.
Throughout her career, Janet has taken on some of the organization's most challenging efforts, including complex contract negotiations that required both precision and resilience. Among her proudest achievements is receiving the company's first ever Chairman's Award, reserved for the single employee annually who instills the company mission, values, and goals in all they do; is relied on for their exceptional contributions that accelerate the business forward; and celebrated by their peers for routinely placing the needs of customers, the business, and teammates, ahead of their own. For Janet, that acknowledgment reflects what she values most: supporting the people around her and contributing to the success of the broader team.
While SGT has evolved significantly over the years, from a smaller organization supporting a limited number of contracts to a multi-faceted company serving the full breadth of Siemens businesses, Janet points to one constant: the people. Colleagues across teams, functions, and personalities have shaped her experience, challenged her to grow, and made the work both meaningful and enjoyable.
"The people I've worked with make the workday fun," she says. "They've pushed me to be better and made the journey incredibly rewarding."
For those just beginning their careers at SGT, Janet offers straightforward advice: "The work at SGT is not easy, but it is rewarding," she says. "Take on the difficult projects, support your peers, and don't be afraid to ask for help — the people here will always be there for you."
