Katy Nierman is the Chief Financial Officer of Siemens Government Technologies (SGT), Inc., the separate but affiliated arm of technology powerhouse Siemens. With project teams throughout the U.S. and overseas, SGT is a cleared provider of Siemens products, technologies, and software to solve some of the most complex government challenges in energy, automation, and digitalization.
In her role as CFO, Ms. Nierman is responsible for leading all financial, accounting, and supply chain functions across SGT supporting teams on projects spanning infrastructure and building automation, to product lifecycle management software delivered via the Cloud and much more. In addition, she and her teams are responsible for forecasting, planning, and establishing financing structures for energy savings performance projects guaranteed to provide government customers with more than $1 billion in energy savings over time.
Previously, Ms. Nierman served as Director of Finance & Business Administration, Southeast Zone of Siemens Industry, Inc., where she led commercial project managers, analysts, and controllers across multiple branches. With 15 years of increasingly responsible financial management roles across six different locations in the U.S. and Germany, Ms. Nierman joined Siemens in 2005 through a highly selective talent development program structured to immerse early career employees in complex aspects of business through rotational assignments, team-focused projects, and mentorship.
Ms. Nierman holds a Master of Business Administration degree in International Finance from Friedrich-Alexander University in Nuremberg, Germany, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
